Armstrong Airport urges passengers to check flight status

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Monday's high winds and rains have caused a power outage and flight delays at Louis Armstrong International Airport.

The airport released the following statement Monday afternoon:

"Due to the severe weather, there have been about 27 flight cancellations and approximately 60 delays by the airlines. We encourage all passengers check with their particular airline on flight status before coming to the airport.

"The main electrical feed to the airport remains out. Partial commercial power has been restored to the west side of the terminal through an alternate feed. The east terminal is operating on generator power and is experiencing intermittent impacts."
