NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Storms ripped past us on Monday and we even saw another heavy round of rain overnight, but now as we head into Tuesday evening only a few isolated showers remain. The upper low that pushed the severe storms through is still to our northwest and slowly moving east. Even though we see a few breaks in the clouds this evening we can expect a pretty overcast day for Wednesday as that system slowly meanders away from us. Temperatures on Wednesday will be cool beneath the clouds. Some areas in Texas are in the low 60s and 50s today. If we get enough sun most of us will hit low 70s, but it's not out of the question we end up a bit cooler.
There begins the spectacular forecast for the rest of the week and upcoming weekend. Clouds clear late Wednesday into Thursday. The sun will help bump temperatures a bit, but we should see several days with high temperatures below the normal of 81. The sunny stretch of weather will hold right through the second weekend of Jazz Fest, but temperatures do slowly ramp back up into the low 80s. Enjoy!
