SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - The St. Tammany Fishing Pier, located along the Slidell lakefront, is rolling out a few time changes beginning Friday, May 1, 2015.
Pier patrons can now enjoy night fishing on Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m.
Saint Tammany parish leaders also reminded residents in a news release Tuesday that the public can take advantage of a discount every Wednesday.
Military members, both active and retired, and senior citizens fish on Wednesdays for only one dollar. Anyone interested should bring a military ID and remember to pay inside using the kiosk.
Starting May 1, night hours will not be the only change. On Mondays and Tuesdays, the attraction is closed. On Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, the hours are 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Children under 12 are always free. Fishing is regularly $3 per person, and sightseers pay $1.
A valid Louisiana fishing license is required to fish at the Pier. For more information call (985) 649-1922.
