NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Joggers will be able to cross a refurbished Wisner Avenue overpass.
A Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development spokeswoman says the department plans to take bids in May to overhaul the decades-old bridge.
The revamped bridge will include space for jogging and bicycle lanes. Plans already call for the creation of jogging lane. The LaDOTD spokeswoman says the City of New Orleans will decide later whether to designate space specifically for bikes.
The transportation department is not sure when construction will begin.
A City Park spokeswoman predicts the new bridge will attract more people to the park.
