Woman accused of smashing window, then stealing cash inside home

The search is on for a 24 year old woman, wanted in connection with a home burglary in Algiers.  The NOPD has identified  24-year-old Ashley Davenport as the suspect in a burglary that happened at an apartment located in the 2100 block of Cobblestone Lane Saturday night.

According to police, Davenport was observed smashing out the in the front window of the apartment Saturday night, shortly before 9 pm. Once  inside, police say she stolen an undetermined amount of cash, then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Davenport was  reportedly developed as a suspect through information given by a witness to the crime. Once apprehended, police say Davenport will be charged with simple burglary.
