Terrebonne Parish man arrested on racketeering charges

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Terrebonne Parish's Sheriff Jerry Larpenter says officers have arrested 33 year-old Joel Toussaint. 

He faces 34 counts of monetary instrument abuse and one count of racketeering. He is currently being held on unrelated charges at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. 

The joint operation with Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office took Toussaint into custody Monday afternoon in the 400 block of St. Phillip Street in Raceland. 

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office is currently seeking four other suspects in connection with the case. 29 year-old Whitney Southall, 26 year-old Lasonya Walker, 41 year-old Raymond Johnson, and 27 year-old Cleveland Jones Junior all remain at large.
