Cyclist killed in Terrebonne hit-and-run

TERREBONNE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A bicyclist was struck head-on and killed in Terrebonne Parish, and police are looking for the driver who left the scene.

The victim was identified as 46-year-old Robert Clowder Jr. of Houma.

The incident happened on LA 57. Police said Clowder was traveling north on LA 57 in the southbound shoulder near the Ashland Jail. At the same time, an unknown vehicle was traveling south on LA 57 approaching Clowder.

The vehicle traveled onto the southbound shoulder and struck Clowder head-on. Clowder and the bicycle were thrown into a ditch and the vehicle then left the scene of the crash.

It is unclear what time the crash occurred. Clowder was last seen leaving his house Monday at around 8:45 p.m.
