Police seek person of interest in Seventh Ward fatal hit and run

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans Police are searching for a man who may have information pertaining to a fatal hit and run that occurred in the Seventh Ward. The incident occurred on March 29, 2015 at 3:25 a.m. at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and North Dorgenois Street. The incident took the life of 72-year-old Carolene England.

Police say that the driver of a burnt orange Ford Mustang was speeding southbound on Elysian Fields. As the vehicle approached North Dorgenois Street, it struck England who was crossing the street with her walker. The vehicle then continued to speed southbound on Elysian Fields.

Investigators are still in the process of locating the owner of the vehicle, identified as 36-year-old Bryan Blanchard. Police say that Blanchard is not a suspect, but detectives do want to speak with him, concerning the incident.
