Police seek suspects in Destrehan splash park vandalism

DESTREHAN, LA (WVUE) - The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for three suspects who damaged a surveillance camera at the Ormond Splash Park in Destrehan.

Police say on April 22, three male subjects arrived at the Splash Park located at 1901 Ormond Boulevard in Destrehan.

Two of the three suspects walked to the pavilion area and pulled a picnic table from the center of the pavilion to a spot directly underneath one of the security cameras. The suspects then began attempting to either remove or damage the camera and after a period of time were successful in doing so.

The subjects then walked away from the area, with the security camera in hand, and threw the camera into a nearby canal, which was later recovered by deputies.

Video surveillance of the incident shows one of the suspects involved in damaging the camera.

If anyone is able to identify the suspect in the video, they are asked to contact Detective Ronnie Newman at 985-783-1223 or 985-783-6807.
