Citizen complaints prompt N.O. East drug bust

Citizen complaints lead to a drug bust in New Orleans East.

Members of the NOPD'S Seventh District General Assignment Unit and the Special Operations Division arrested 29-year-old Jessie Mitchell and 30-year-old Ariel Horace on Thursday. Officers served a search warrant on the couple's home on Gervais Street.

Investigators say citizens' complaints led officers to the couple's home. Once the search warrant was served, investigators say they recovered 66.91 grams of crack cocaine, 7.10 grams of Marijuana, a loaded .9mm pistol and more than $1200 in cash.

Both Mitchell and Horace were booked into Central Lockup on counts of possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of illegal narcotics. Mitchell was additionally charged with felon in possession of a firearm
