NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 24-year-old man in Central City Friday.
The victim was discovered outside lying in the grassy area between the sidewalk and the street in the 2600 block of Magnolia Street.
At around 6:45 p.m., officers were called out to investigate a call of a man shot next to a Ford pickup truck.Officers arrived and found the unresponsive victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and neck. He died on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives are working to determine a motive in the incident. Homicide Detective Greg Hamilton is in charge of the investigation and can be contacted at (504) 658-5300.
The coroner will release the identity of the victims after notification of family members.
