NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - It turned out to be a fantastic day to celebrate Mom. Plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures made for a lovely, if a bit warm day outdoors for all those crawfish boils and barbeques. The nice weather hung around for just the right amount of time over the weekend with an upper level high and circulation around Tropical Storm Ana helping to keep a lid on convection.
Rain chances return by Monday afternoon. As Ana pushes off and the upper high collapses we will also see more moisture in the upper levels with the subtropical jet stream moving across our region.
A cold front moves in stalling across southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. A number of disturbances will slide northeast along that front keeping higher shower chances in each day with coverage up to 40 to 60 percent by next weekend.
