Southeastern baseball nearing Southland Conference title

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Southeastern suffered their first conference loss in 12-straight contests on Saturday against Central Arkansas, but bounced back Sunday with an 11-5 win that puts them just one win or a Northwestern State loss shy of a Southland Conference Regular Season Title.

Matt Riser's squad was swinging early and often in building a 10-0 lead, including back-to-back home runs by Carson Crites and Daniel Midyett in the fourth inning. The Lions tallied 12 hits on the day.

Kyle Cedotal pitched six strong innings but was dinged with four earned runs in the seventh.  Kyle Keller came on in relief and was credited with one earned run but held on to secure the 22nd conference win of the year, a new school record.

Southeastern's regular season ends with a split series against UNO with Thursday and Saturday's games played in Lakeview and Friday's contest in Hammond for senior night.
