NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - We had 13 days to dry out and that streak comes to an end Monday. The storm system that brought severe weather to Texas and much of the Midwest over the weekend will weaken the upper high that helped us stay dry over the weekend. Scattered storms will develop around lunch time. The heaviest rain moves into the north shore just ahead of the cold front around 3 pm.
The Storm Prediction Center places us in the marginal risk for severe weather. This is the lowest category for severe risk, but we may see one or two storms with heavy rain, high wind and the potential for hail or an isolated tornado.
