SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) -

Firefighters are heroes. They risk their lives to save people, pets and communities. They wear up to 75 pounds of gear and suffer through intense conditions. They are guardian angels.

But like everyone else, even our heroes have their moments.

A car burst into flames near a Popeye's on Sunday on Gause Boulevard in Slidell. First responders quickly made it to the scene.

As one of the firefighters got out of his truck, he lost his balance and took a tumble, which was caught on camera.

He was okay and the fire was put out in no time.

The Slidell Police Department posted the video to its Facebook page.

"We love joking back and forth with our firefighters over at St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1. They are going to have a hard time with a rebuttal to this video! P.S. The firefighter was OK," the post read.

St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1 was quick to respond to the post.

"Pay back will come soon! Just don't let us see any of your guys at a donut shop! LOL."

Again, no one was hurt during the incident and the video was posted as good-natured ribbing.
