NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police responded to a fatal shooting Monday in the Milneburg neighborhood.
The call came out just after 6:30 p.m. saying a male was down in the 2500 block of Prentiss Street.
Officers were called out to investigate a "man down" on the porch of a home in the area. EMS arrived and tried to resuscitate the 30-year-old victim, but he died on the scene. A loaded pistol was recovered next to his body.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the victim was shot in the 2500 block of Prentiss Street and ran and collapsed on the porch of a home in the 2500 block of Mendez Street.
The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are interviewing an individual to determine a motive in the incident.

The coroner will release the identity of the victim after notification of family members.
