NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison and Crimestoppers President and CEO Darlene Cusanza will receive "thank you" letters written to NOPD officers by students at Edward Hynes Charter School.

The students wrote the letters as part of a Crimestoppers challenge to private and public schools across the area, urging them to thank law enforcement officers for all that they do in the community.

Edward Hynes Charter School is one of several schools in Orleans Parish to accept the challenge. All thank you letters will be displayed in the lobby at NOPD headquarters and at police districts across the city. The letters will be collected by Superintendent Harrison on Tuesday.
