Electrical short causes New Orleans East fire, officials say

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An electrical short is to blame for an early morning house fire in New Orleans East, according to the New Orleans Fire Department.

The fire broke out Wednesday morning in the 4900 block of Coronado Drive.

Crews on the scene say the fire heavily damaged the home, but it did not spread to any other property.

The Red Cross is currently on the scene helping residents displaced in the fire.
