(WVUE) - St. Tammany Parish Deputies arrested 25-year-old Jermal "Bird" Randolph after his girlfriend accused him of firing a gun at her Thursday around 1 p.m.
Randolph's girlfriend told investigators she was in a car with Randolph when the two got involved in an argument. When Randolph pulled into the Shell gas station at 60239 Highway 11, she tried to leave. That's when police say Randolph pulled out a handgun and fired in her direction.
The victim, who was not hit, ran into the gas station and asked the clerk to call 911 as Randolph sped away.
Deputies found Randolph at a relative's home in Pearl River just before 5 p.m. Thursday and arrested him. He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on one count of attempted second-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Investigators say Randolph has a history of narcotics and property crimes convictions.
