TERREBONNE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A 19-year old man accused of breaking into 16 cars is behind bars.
Detectives with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriffs Office arrested Nicholas Cunningham for 16 counts of simple burglary in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries in Lisa and Broadmoor subdivisions last week, according to Sheriff Jerry Larpenter.
They say 19-year-old Cunningham, of 304 Wildwood Drive, was arrested after a patrolman detained him minutes after a vehicle burglary was reported to Terrebonne Parish Detectives.
Authorities say they continued their investigation and connected Cunningham to a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred in west Houma in which items - including cash, electronics and personal items - were stolen.
The Terrebomme Parish Sheriff's Office recovered some items, but say the majority of electronics and cash were used by the suspect.
They say Cunningham remains in the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he awaits a bond hearing.
