Man, woman tied up during Lafourche home invasion

GALLIANO, LA (WVUE) - Two masked suspects tied up and man and woman during a home invasion in Galliano, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office.

Police say it happened around 2:30 a.m. on May 13 at a home in the 100 block of East 150th Street.

A man and woman were sleeping inside the home when two subjects, who both appeared to be males, wearing masks barged into their bedroom.

One of the masked subjects pointed a gun at the man, threatening to shoot him if he moved. The other stood over the woman armed with a baseball bat. The two masked subjects tied up the couple and demanded money.

The suspects rummaged through the home and stole a safe, an undetermined amount of cash, and several other items of value including the couple's SUV.

After the masked subjects left, the man and woman freed themselves and called for help.

Police say the suspects made entry by breaking a window. Golden Meadow Police found the stolen vehicle abandoned on Louviere Lane after being alerted by a concerned citizen.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in hopes of identifying the two unknown subjects. Anyone with any information on this case is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433.
