NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Judge Franz Ziblich reduced Ayanna Taplette's bond from $1 million to $250,000 during a hearing Monday. If she's able to pay, she'll be confined to her home and only allowed to leave for work.
Police say Taplette stabbed 17-year-old Tyrone Scott to death in April 2013. Scott was the boyfriend of Taplette's daughter.
At the time, she told police she found Scott in her home and thought he was an intruder. Immediately after the incident, police questioned Taplette and then released her, calling the incident justifiable homicide.
