NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Thousands of students across southeast Louisiana begin their summer break this week.
It was all smiles for children who attended Orleans Parish Public Schools on Wednesday. It was their last day of class until next school year.
Summer officially starts Thursday for public school students in Jefferson, Plaquemines, Washington and St. John the Baptist Parishes.
Students in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and St. James Parishes look forward to their last day on Friday.
In Lafourche and Terrebonne, students have to go to school a little longer. Their last day is Wednesday, May 27.
Students get out of school on May 28 in St. Bernard and St. Charles Parishes.
