NBA names Davis to leagues All-Defensive Second Team

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The NBA has named New Orleans Pelicans power forward Anthony Davis to its All-Defensive Second Team. It is the first time Davis has made the team since he was drafted three years ago.

Davis, 6-10, 220, led the league in both blocks per game with 2.9, ending the season with 200 total blocks.. Additionally, Davis averaged 7.7 defensive rebounds per game and 1.5 steals.

Davis, who led the team in rebounding in 40 games this season, now ranks fifth all-time in franchise history and became the franchise's all-time leader in blocked shots on April 4. Davis has 501 blocks for his career.

Davis was the number one selection in 2012. He attended the University of Kentucky.
