Gunman follows 54-year-old man home, steals cash

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is searching for a man responsible for robbing a 54-year-old man in New Orleans East.

The robbery occurred around 11:10 a.m. Wednesday in the 4900 block of Cernay Street.

Video surveillance recorded the suspect following the victim to his house. The suspect then took out a pistol and demanded the victim's property, according to police.

The victim gave the suspect $50 before the suspect left the area in a late model white SUV.

Police say the suspect may be responsible for similar robberies in the Michoud/Village D'Lest area.
