McDonald's purchase leads to armed robbery arrests

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - After a transaction at McDonald's, officers located and arrested two suspects who allegedly robbed two men in the 2200 block of Decatur Street on Wednesday morning.

Michael Joseph Toliver Jr, 28, and Terrance Melvin Dandridge, 23, were transported to Central Lock Up and booked with armed robbery. Police say they were identified by the victims as the perpetrators of the armed robbery.

The two men exited a dark-colored SUV and shouted at the victims. Then, one suspect demanded money while the other held a weapon on one of the victim's face, according to police. The suspects fled the scene after the victims complied, police said.

While one victim canceled his credit card, he was informed that a purchase occurred at McDonald's located on Franklin and Saint Claude Avenues. Officers arrived to the restaurant and learned that the purchase was made by several black males in a dark colored SUV.

Throughout the investigation, detectives obtained the vehicle's license plate, which led officers to locate the suspected vehicle in the 3700 block of North Tonti Street.
