BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - The top-ranked LSU baseball team produced a much better start Thursday night, jumping out to a 6-0 lead en route to a 10-5 win over Arkansas.

The Tigers earned an automatic berth in Saturday's semifinals and will face the winner of Friday's Florida vs Arkansas game.

LSU collected 12 hits on the night, with Jared Foster going 3-4 with a pair of doubles. Mark Laird and Andrew Stevenson each had two hits, while Alex Bregman tallied three RBI and a pair of stolen bases.

LSU starter Austin Bain lasted just 1.2 innings, giving up four earned runs. However, the Tiger bullpen was steady for the second straight game. Russell Reynolds threw 3.1 innings of shutout relief.

Arkansas was shaky to start the game, both on the mound and in the field. The Razorbacks committed a season-high six errors in the game.

LSU has now won nine consecutive SEC tournament games dating back to 2013. The Tigers will have an off day Friday and will hold a light practice.
