Police seek person of interest in Gentilly shooting

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans Police are looking for a person of interest who may have information pertaining to a shooting that took place in the parking lot at a Gentilly hotel. The incident occurred Tuesday May 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the 4900 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

Police say that the 31-year-old victim parked his car in the hotel's lot and went up to his room, while his 26-year-old friend stayed in the car. When he came back to his car, two armed men approached the pair, demanding their belongings. As both victims began to run away, the suspects fired their guns. The 31-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to his foot. Both suspects then ran away.

Police believe that the person of interest may have critical information about the incident. Detectives say that he is not considered a suspect in the case.
