BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WVUE) - An off-duty Slidell police officer helped Mississippi police catch a drunk man in a stolen "student driver" car.
According to the Slidell Police Department, Detective Charles Esque was driving on Highway 603 in Bay St. Louis when a car with "student driver" written on the side drove past him at over 110 mph. Police said Esque called 911 to alert local authorities then began chasing the vehicle.
Hancock County deputies set up a road block and managed to force the "Student Driver" to stop.
Police found 27-year-old Kevin Hernandez behind the wheel. They said he was drunk and stole the vehicle to go on a joyride.
