LSU baseball confident heading into Regional

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - LSU reached double-digit losses Saturday against Florida in the SEC Tournament but despite the offensively-challenged loss, the Tigers are preaching confidence heading into their NCAA Tournament Regional in Baton Rouge.

"We play in the best conference in the country," senior designated hitter Chris Sciambra said. "If we can run through that and consistently win games we know that we can play against anyone in the country and play with them so if it's a team from out west or someone we haven't played before, nothing is going to change for us, we'll be be confident."

SEC Freshman of the Year Alex Lange pitched a gem in the loss to Florida and is slated to start Saturday. "This team is very confident coming into the postseason," Lange said. "Getting a national seed has been one of our goals all year and we're glad we accomplished that but now that's over it's time to turn our focus to winning the regional and winning game one of the regional this Friday so playing with a lot of confidence so it's going to be an exciting time."

The Tigers and fourth-seeded Lehigh start the Regional off Friday at 3 PM.
