Woman kidnapped, raped near French Quarter

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A 24-year-old woman was forced inside of a vehicle near the French Quarter and sexually assaulted, according to New Orleans police.

Investigators said she was walking in the 700 block of Canal Street on Wednesday at 1:18 a.m. when she was approached by an unknown man. The man forced her into the vehicle that was driven by another man.

As one of the men drove the vehicle around, the other man raped the woman.

The victim said she tried to fight off her attacker when she was forced out of the vehicle at an unknown location.

Police said the victim was unable to describe the suspects or vehicle.
