City Park examining smoking policy

First New Orleans bars, now City Park?

The City Park Board suggests banning smoking in regards to the park's policy.

Susan Hess, the City Park Board president, is creating a committee that will make recommendations to the smoking policy, which will be considered and taken into action within the next few months.

City Park supports healthy living, along with the City Council's newly adopted smoking policy.

Smoking is currently not allowed in any of the park's buildings, nor within 25 feet of any park building's entrance.

Areas that will receive special attention will be popular children attractions, such as Storyland and the amusement park.

Enforcement of any additions to City Park's smoking policy will also be considered by the committee selected by Hess.
