HAPPENING TODAY: Mayor to deliver State of the City Address

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu will deliver his annual State of the City Address on Thursday morning.

He's expected to lay out the city's challenges and some of its accomplishments over the past year.

Thursday's speech marks Landrieu's sixth year in office.

Landrieu has used the occasion in the past to discuss anti-crime initiatives.

The speech starts at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Carver Theater on Orleans Avenue. Doors open at 10 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
