Man bound with shoelaces, home ransacked in Mid-City

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A man was pepper sprayed and bound with shoelaces while his Mid-City home was ransacked, according to initial police reports.

The incident happened around 1:15 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of David Street.

Officers say that the victim, a 55-year-old man, pulled up to his home when two unknown men emerged from behind the house.

The suspects followed the man inside, pepper sprayed him and tied him up with shoelaces, police say. The two men then ransacked the home.

The suspects fled the scene with unknown items.
