NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - We enjoyed a fairly pleasant Thursday with very little shower activity.
It was a welcomed break from the stormy start to the week, but the upper ridge that kept rain to a minimum is already breaking down.
Expect more showers for this afternoon with plenty of moisture to work with and quite a bit of daytime heating.
This afternoon's highs will be in the upper 80s right in line with long term averages. Rain coverage will increase each day with Sunday looking like the wettest day.
It could be stormy and wet next week with a low being cut off from the main flow allowing us to see several periods of wet weather. Highs will be in the upper 80s with lows remaining in the lower 70s.
