NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - It was a nice start to the day with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures but increasing rain coverage as the day wears on.
A small disturbance is circulating inland from the Southeast around the edge of high pressure controlling the region. This disturbance helped showers develop through the early evening. Any rain after sunset should end quickly.
Saturday will be similar with slightly more coverage, and by Sunday we can expect the influence of an upper trough to increase rain coverage even more.
Looking ahead, that trough will break apart with the southern end becoming a cut-off low that will not move quickly at all. The low will trigger rain through the start of the week and may make for some wet days to begin June.
