NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - After some big, soaking rains focused mainly over Lakeview Sunday, Monday looks much drier.
The heavy rains were thanks to an upper low which was in a position to our northwest to really increase the flow from the Gulf.
That upper low is on the move eastward Monday. It may still be in a position for some showers and storms during the day, but not as much as Sunday.
By Tuesday, we'll be on the dry side and as an upper ridge builds in, the rest of the week stays dry. With drier weather also comes the heat.
Highs could easily top 90 degrees for several days.
