LSU wins regional championship 2-0

BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - Jared Poche' threw 8.2 shutout innings to lead LSU to a 2-0 Regional Championship game win over UNC-Wilmington.

Poche' gave up just six hits and struck out eight. The former Lutcher Bulldog came through with one of the best outings of his career to send the Tigers into the NCAA Super Regional round.

Chris Chinea's RBI double in the second inning gave LSU an early 1-0 lead. Jake Fraley then followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0.

LSU also made a trio of standout defensive plays courtesy of Alex Bregman, Andrew Stevenson and Conner Hale.
