NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Sunday, in particular, brought some major storms with isolated areas like Lakeview getting more than four inches of rain in a short period of time. We have had a few storms blossom this afternoon with most activity right along the coast.
A slow moving upper low to our northwest opened up the Gulf of Mexico dragging in plenty of moisture to fuel those storms. The low is moving slowly eastward allowing a big pocket of dry air to settle into the region. An upper high will continue to build over the area into the end of the week. The high pressure will mean less rain and fewer clouds, but that does come with a price. We can expect hotter temps in the 88-92 range through the week as well.
