A man was rescued from a burning home on Elysian Fields Avenue early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened around 5:10 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Elysian Fields Avenue. Doors and windows of the house were boarded up as officers arrived on the scene.

Several rooms near the front of the house were on fire, officials say.

Firefighters say the home was listed as vacant. However, crews arriving on the scene found a man requesting help near the home's rear window.

Crews pulled the man from the home. No injuries have been reported at this time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters say it appears several individuals were staying in the house. Mattresses and signs of a squatter camp were found inside.
