NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A human trafficking and prostitution task force arrested a New Orleans man for allegedly "pimping" a 17-year-old girl, according to state police.
On Friday, law enforcement officials identified the teenager that was being advertised for sexual purposes. During an interview with the teenager, investigators determined that James Muse, 26, was responsible for the alleged crimes.
Muse was located and booked on charges of trafficking of children for sexual purposes.
Louisiana State Police, FBI, New Orleans Police Department and Kenner Police Department helped in the investigation.
"Louisiana State Police has continued to work with our law enforcement partners and each time we combine efforts, we see results," said Colonel Mike Edmonson, Louisiana State Police Superintendent. "Troopers have been supplementing the New Orleans Police Department in and around the French Quarter and we have seen a decrease in crime. We will continue to combine efforts because we know it has an enormous effect on the quality of life in our communities."
Muse was taken to jail without incident.
