Police seek person of interest in fatal NOE shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help in finding 23-year-old Torrel Knox, who may have critical information pertaining to the murder of a 21-year-old man in New Orleans East.

The shooting happened Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Francis Drive and Ransom Street.

Officers found the victim lying in the middle of the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS technicians could not revive the man. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The shooting is under investigation.
