(WVUE) - Former Jefferson Parish President Aaron Broussard lost a new battle to vacate his conviction.
Broussard is serving a 46 month sentence in federal prison after his 2012 conviction for bribery and a payroll fraud scheme.
On Monday, Judge Hayden Head rejected a second request by Broussard's attorney to get his plea deal thrown out.
In March, Broussard asked a federal appeals court to throw out his conviction, saying the case was tainted by an online scandal involving the U.S. Attorney's Office.
That appeal was also rejected.
