NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Crimestoppers is now offering $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect responsible for killing HANO Officer James Bennett, Jr.
Bennett was found shout to death in his patrol car on May 21 near the intersection of Erato Street and Freret Street. He was patrolling a Central City housing development construction site at the time of his death.

Officials from the New Orleans housing authority said they will never recover from this incident, but the department will be stronger. They said that is the way Bennett would have wanted it.
The reward was initially set at $5,000.
