Franklin: A dry, hot weekend in store

Franklin: A dry, hot weekend in store

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - We reached 90 degrees at the airport for the first time in June on Thursday. We reached both 90 and 91 degrees in May.

With most of the region remaining dry Thursday, we did happen to have a brief shower over parts of the metro area in the afternoon as well as around Thibodaux and Houma.

These developed because of daytime heating and a sea breeze.

Rain will be even more limited as the upper ridge builds from the west.

The ridge will remain in place through early next week. Once it breaks down, rain chances will increase by about Wednesday.
