BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - A state board has suspended its executive director following a Lee Zurik Investigation uncovering questionable spending.
At a meeting Friday in Baton Rouge, the Municipal Employees Retirement Board placed Executive Director Bob Rust on a 60 day administrative leave with pay.
While on leave, Rust is required to participate and assist in any ongoing investigation by the board into his spending. Rust also must attend a June 18 public meeting to answer questions about the questionable expenses.
This decision comes after a series of Lee Zurik Swiped investigations into expensive meals, trips and conferences planned by Rust over the past few years.
The board's attorney will serve as interim director.
