Car stolen during holdup in Ninth Ward

A man's Chevrolet Camaro was stolen during a holdup at a gas station in the Ninth Ward.

New Orleans police say the 25-year-old victim was at the Brothers Gas Station in the 5100 block of St. Claude Avenue on Sunday morning around 2:10 a.m.

The man was checking the air pressure in his tire when someone approached him from behind and said, "Hey, bro." The victim looked up and saw the perpetrator pointing a pistol at him, at which time the victim ran away.

The gunman jumped into the driver's seat and drove off in an unknown direction.

Police are looking for an African-American man, 20-25 years old, 5'10", and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue and gray jacket with blue jeans and had a white bandanna covering part of his face.
