COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) - A 39-year-old Pearl River man convicted of sexually molesting a young girl will be sentenced June 22.
Joshua D. Liner faces 25 to 99 years in prison for sexual battery.
St. Tammany Parish investigators say the 6-year-old's parents notified police after the little girl told her mother that Liner touched her inappropriately during a visit to his home with her father in 2013.
According to prosecutors, the girl revealed additional details in an interview at the Children's Advocacy Center. She said Liner also made her touch and kiss his private areas. The girl told them she complied because she was afraid and did not want him to get angry at her.
Jurors also heard testimony from a 30-year-old woman who said Liner molested her from the time she was 6 years old until she was about 12.
The jury deliberated for less than 2 hours before reaching the guilty verdict June 4.
