Suspected car burglar caught after chase

TERREBONNE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Terrebonne Parish detectives arrested a Montegut man they say had stolen items on him when he ran from authorities.

Kyle Lebouef, 39, of Montegut was allegedly in possession of a GPS, radar detector and cell phone charges.

Terrebonne Parish deputies, narcotic agents and detectives were on patrol early Tuesday morning when they say they spotted a suspicious vehicle parked in the car wash at the Clearview Mini-Mart parking lot.

Authorities say when they approached the white Ford Explorer, Lebouef drove away and then eventually got out of the SUV and ran.

Narcotics agents caught him walking in the 5100 block of La. Highway 56 in Chauvin. They say the GPS he had on him had been reported stolen from a vehicle in the Chauvin area.

Lebouef was arrested and booked with simple burglary. He's being held on a $5,000.00 bond.
