NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The Orleans Parish Coroner's office has released the identity of the teenager found dead on Interstate 10 at Bullard Avenue. The body of 16-year-old Kaylan Ward was found Thursday around 6:30 a.m. on the east-bound lane of the interstate.
According to a New Orleans Police spokesperson, Ward was last seen walking towards the river on Earhart Boulevard near Magnolia Street, at midnight Wednesday night. She was trying to get a ride to North Miro Street, police say.
An Orleans Parish Coroner's Office spokesperson says that the preliminary cause of death is multiple blunt traumatic injuries. Investigators are still in the process of gathering evidence to determine what happened to Ward.
